Gr. 15.8 x 13.9 cm.] Begleitet von Ernhold gelangt Teurdank an den dritten Pass, darauf der boes Neidelhart sass. Neidelhart empfaengt den Helden besonders freundlich. Als Teurdank sich ueber die Untaten Fuerwittigs und Unfalos bei ihm beschwert, versucht er, seine Freunde zu entschuldigen: sie haetten nur prueffen wollen, ob ihre Herrin auch den richtigen Mann bekaeme, einen, der sich nicht scheue, sein Leben zu riskieren. Teurdank wird nun in einem schoenen Hause einquartiert und praechtig bewirtet. Neidelhart aber macht bereits Plaene, um den Helden in leid und we" zu bringen". Er will die Angelegenheit subtil angehen, damit der Held diesmal nicht entkaeme.

How the famous hero T. at the third pass, at the Neydelhart Inn, arrives and what dangers he encounters. T. asks why he encounters so many dangers and his antagonist tells him : It is to make sure that their mistress has to be sure about him; he has to even risk his life to be worthy of her.
