Description

Vellum leaf from a Book of Hours, printed in Paris around 1550, probably by Henry Coipel. The most striking part of this leaf is the miniature : the Visitation [ Mary meets Elisabeth and an angel looks on.] The metal cut is painted in gouache in very bright colours! The text is in a neat letter type in black and red; the initials are done by hand. Condition : very good.
